Quick Review: WET
July 31, 2018I’ve been going through trying to complete some of my older games in my backlog and I finally got around to 2009s WET for the Xbox 360 (and PlayStation 3).
This game quickly made it to one of my favorites of all time, I just couldn’t put it down after I started playing it. It’s an acrobatic shooter that puts you into slo-mo anytime your doing tricks and shooting. The controls are surprisingly easy to get used to, allowing you to wall-run, jump, dive, and slide to your heart’s content. Normally I’m not a fan of QTE (quick time events), but the amount of time the game gives you to make your inputs is plenty.
The game itself is very grindhouse/Tarantino-ish. Lots of over the top action and gore, a very artistic style and great characters. The soundtrack is also very well done and fits great with the theme!
I give this game a 9 out of 10.
